Yatinder Singh Biography

Early Life & Roots

Yatinder Singh was born on December 25, 1982, in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, into a large joint family that emphasized discipline and hard work . As a child, he was slim and often faced taunts about his dark complexion and underweight physique—challenges that affected his self-esteem .

To give him better academic and athletic opportunities, his parents placed him in Kirpal Sagar Academy near Nabha, Punjab (circa 1997–98) . There, he excelled in sports, particularly in 100m/200m sprints and javelin, earning district- and national-level recognition . After completing his schooling, he returned home and graduated from Maharaj Singh College, Saharanpur, in 2000 .

Kick-starting His Bodybuilding Journey

Yatinder’s passion for bodybuilding began in his college years. In 2001, he embarked on competitive bodybuilding, winning his first title as Mr. Saharanpur in 2002. By 2004, he was dominating local competitions: he won the Federation Cup with the “Best Improved Bodybuilder” award and defeated the more seasoned Asia silver medalist, Jagjit, in the 75 kg category .

Recognizing his talent, the Indian Bodybuilding Federation nominated him to represent India at Mr. Asia 2005 in Sri Lanka .

Injury & Perseverance

During preparation for Mr. Asia 2005, an unfortunate accident during training resulted in a spinal injury—multiple ruptured vertebrae that caused nerve damage, partially paralyzing his right hand and leg . His condition worsened to the point where he used a wheelchair for a time .

Despite the grim prognosis, Yatinder refused to give up. To sustain himself financially, he began working as a personal trainer in Meerut . In 2008, he moved to Gurgaon (now Gurugram) and opened OTwo Gym and Spa, quickly establishing it as a leading fitness center .

Triumphant Return

By 2008–2009, he had begun to recover and carefully resumed training, supported by studies in exercise science such as the ACE and ACSM certifications .
